Biography

Christopher David Salcido is a skilled musician and avid computer programmer who was raised and homeschooled in California until he was sixteen years old when he passed the California High School Proficiency Exam (CHSPE) to enter college. His first experimentation with music began when he was quite young at his grandmother's house where he'd pluck out familiar video game tunes from the Nintendo Entertainment System. His family didn't have a piano until he was age seven when he then continued to play video game music as well as film music by ear. Piano lessons began the following year as well as his experimentation with composition.

At age eleven Christopher discovered computer programming through the QBasic computer language and taught himself it over the course of the next few years. In his early-to-mid teens he worked on video game fan sites, learning HTML and JavaScript as well as transcribed and arranged film and video game music for various other websites. A couple years before entering college he began teaching himself C++ programming.

Christopher began college at sixteen years of age at Riverside Community College where he received two Associate degrees and two certifications, as well as placing in two composition contests. He then transferred to California Baptist University where he graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Music Composition.

In his spare time, Christopher can often be found either at his computer or at his piano or keyboard. At the computer he enjoys researching and programming mathematics, physics, psychology, artificial intelligence, cryptology, open source software, and video games for fun. He also prefers the Oxford comma. He may also be found writing, recording, or editing audio or music. If he's not found in either of these places, he's most likely at church or playing video games, both of which he draws inspiration from for his projects.
